Lindisfarne

I'm tackling my Northumberland blogs in no articular order.  Today I fancied looking at the photos of Lindisfarne, so that's what you get next.  This was with Mol, so the middle holiday.

The causeway didn't open until shortly before lunch, so we lazed in Seahouses in the morning.  It was a lovely day to just sit and watch the views (although we also visited the Swallow Fish shop and the Northumbrian Hamper for foodie things, and Polka Dot for Mol to get a couple of small gifts).

Once the causweay was about to open we headed north towards Holy Island, with a photo stop just short of Bamburgh.

I'm going to enter mine for the Countryfile Calendar competition (closing date in a fortnight) - the theme is colours in the countryside, and I think that this and a couple of my puffins are probably the most suitable.  (Rules say you can enter 3.)

Then we paused for a light snack lunch at the Barn at Beal, to enjoy the view.  Everyone had shot off as soon as the causeway opened, so it was nice and quiet when we got there.  Perfect timing!

We visited the Priory, where Mol relaxed after the efforts of the previous day (we did the full day trip to the Farnes) and I went into David Bailey mode.  There was a fisherman's funeral in the Church, so we had to walk round the back streets and get in by a side gate, and there was no visiting the Church as they buried him in the graveyard so were there most of the afternoon.

Eventually we wandered on to the little bay they call The Haven.  It has lovely views - but by the time we got there the wind had really got up so we didn't stay long.

Mol was cold!  That's my jumper as well as her own
