Halifax

Apart from the port I've kind of glossed over Halifax itself.  So here's a bit about the city.  I haven't got many decent photos - we seemed to be sitting in the wrong place in the bus the whole time.  Much of Halifax is still made of wood - it's the cheapest material over there, and with forest management there's a continual supply.

There are lovely tree lined roads, and areas of very expensive houses.

We went up to the Citadel, which has the old fort (closing when we arrived) and lovely views over the city and harbour.

We always find on our cruise shore days that you can see the ship (whichever it is) in the most unexpected ways - looming above roof tops, peeping between houses.

We took a quick drive through the port on the way back to the ship, and then got to make our way through the massed souvenir stands (essential for moose shopping) and aboard.  The ship was already steaming when we got back - the gangway was virtually pulled up behind us as we boarded.

Already getting into bad habits.  I ought to stress they are of course my mooses (meese?)

It was sunset as we sailed, and quite beautiful.  We were nearly late for dinner, realising that we were due at the table in around 20 minutes and neither of us had showered! We made it more or less on time, showered and looking lovely as always.
