All tiled!

Though admittedly not grouted.  The big job today was the overhang in the window and patio door recesses.  They hang there nicely while you're sticking them up, but Martin didn't want to risk leaving them to suction's tender mercies, so we made some pit props up.

Martin reckons he's never done a kitchen where he got to fit so few complete tiles.  By the time we'd gone along the very top strip as well as all the recesses there were an awful lot of good for nothing offcuts.

Hooray for the skip on the drive.

So the whole lot is now tiled, and we took the pit props out last thing.

We still had an hour left at the end of the day.  We'd hoped to get the splashbacks up (I spent another couple of hours this morning getting all the scratches out and polishing them up), but we decided there really wasn't enough time to grout the adjacent tiles and get them washed and dried, so we had a mega clear up and got most of the tile cutting kit into Martin's van.  And then while we swigged our OSH did a couple of the twiddly bits that didn't need much planning.

Hoping to be grouted and have blinds up by tomorrow night!

  2. Is it just me, or are some of those power sockets looking rather wonky? I feel it would be a shame to have them spoil the whole ...
    Otherwise, rather nice!
