Better known today as Longstone Island, Mol and I took a trip out there on our spare full day. It was the most glorious afternoon, so we joined the trippers with their horrible brats and went for a close up of the place where Grace Darling and her father had set out in 1838 to rescue the 9 survivors of the Forfarshire. (Of course, everybody forgets that there were also 9 - 8 of them crew - who made it into a lifeboat and were picked up safely the next morning. And another 42 who didn't make it at all.) We didn't go inside, as we couldn't face all the stairs, but took a good wander outside. The water was beautifully - you've already seen some of the seal shots from the afternoon.
Then there was an oystercatcher family.
And some eiders.
And of course the views.

Its a shame you didn't get to the top. Love the baby!
