Reef days

I seem to be struggling to get blog posts written - especially as Tish has been home the past few days. Having pulled a muscle in her shoulder on Sunday, snorkeling with Cameron, she got a sick note on Monday and won't be back in work until tomorrow. Not really a good idea holding babies when you may end up dropping them. The car is also currently sick - has limped through to today, just doing school runs, and is in the garage today. So shall try and do several posts. This is the first.

Had 2 visits to the Reef last week. On Thursday Doms and I headed over to Michaelmas Cay. Boat ride was a couple of hours each way, only a small beach area there  (though as only 2 boats go out to it that's ok) so not suitable for the kids. Tish was on a late so able to drop us off and do the school runs so off we went for the birdie trip so I could see the brown boobies. Few of the best.

Feeding the wrong way round! 

On Sunday we all went to Green Island. Coral not as good but there were plenty of fish - and we saw turtles! There is shade and somewhere to get lunch and a freshwater pool and showers and ice cream, so a good family day out. Buff banded rails run about everywhere - one tried to climb onto Hamish's or my lap and share our chips - nearly gave us both heart failure. Hamish and Xanthe used the 2 reloadable underwater snappies and I bought a disposable. We've all got some ok shots which Doms will scan in later. Any with people in were taken by me!
