Kitchen - Day 7

This turned out to be another messy day, as we figured out how to mount the extractor hood.  Martin came up with a jig to mount it, and we fitted this between the joists.  This is a trial fit - obviously the bolts will be going through the plasterboard ceiling as well as the jig.

There's a nice shiny chimney fits round this, and then the glass hood and filter on the bottom.  The fan is at the base of this.  The ducting will then run back between the joists and out a hole in the wall.  Which is now there.

That is a serious WMD!

The rest of the afternoon was spent getting wires out of the plasterwork, stripping wallpaper, working out a shopping list and a final to-do list.  Tomorrow we will finish off all the small odds and ends needed before the plasterers come.  And then we will do a mammoth shop - lighting, tiles, radiators and essential odds and ends (like the ducting adaptors for the extractor).  We're planning a day off on Wednesday before the electrician makes a start.
